Who does not like a little goat cheese fresh or fried and spiced with honey? This is one of the most basic and traditional recipes of the area, a perfect marriage. And this is not the only reason for us to enjoy the different honeys in the locality.

It is said that there is nothing as sweet as honey but we must not forget that honey is a food by itself. Toil and hardship, throat and stomach problems, respiratory and blood flow disorders ... all find relief with a little honey.

As elsewhere, its harvest is due to local families that shared it out amongst friends and neighbors. Sometimes it is marketed, always in small quantities. Traditionally they used beehives called Abejares or Colmenares. Currently dominate the mobile hives that make it easy the bees to enjoy a more varied diet.

The type of honey in the area is known as Miel de Montaña (mountain honey), for being cultivated to about 800 m. above sea level on average. This type of honey contains the typical scent of the plants growing at this point (thyme, gorse, savory, lavender, some fruit trees, oak, etc..) When one of them predominates over all others, the honey is called Miel Monofloral (Monofloral Honey), if there is not any plant that predominates is Miel Milflores (Thousand Flowers) or Multifloral.

In the country of Daroca it is produced a high quality honey, thanks to the lack of pollution and  to the biodiversity in the area.

In addition to multifloral honey we have Monofloral de Tomillo (Thyme), intense and soothing, and  Monofloral de Bosque (Forest) or Mielato de Encina, of high biological value.
